StrategEast IT development program launched in Kyrgyzstan

The first activities of StrategEast IT development program in Kyrgyzstan started.

On November 29, an intensive two-week Think Big Bootcamp for startups with Silicon Valley mentors was launched. This is a unique program organized by KSSDA and supported by US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic where the products by startups will be individually analyzed by specialists with real expertise in the US market.

Some 16 startups were selected for participation – 13 from Kyrgyzstan, two from Kazakhstan, and one from Uzbekistan.

The bootcamp is hosted by the Kyrgyz Software and Services Developers Association (KSSDA) in partnership with StrategEast and USMAC, financed by the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the opening ceremony welcome remarks were made by Anatoly Motkin, President of StrategEast, Chris Burry, co-CEO at USMAC, Miranda Lupion, Cultural Affairs Officer, US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, and  Avigail Menashe, Executive Director at KSSDA.

At the same time, an office of the largest American engineering company EPAM was opened in Kyrgyzstan. The opening of which was announced earlier  by Arkady Dobkin, President of EPAM at the State and IT Eurasian Forum, which was held in Bishkek in early November. The Kyrgyz office of EPAM has begun creating new jobs: more than 100 vacancies for Kyrgyz IT specialists are posted on the website of the company.
