We are pleased to announce that Mr Sergey Tokarev has joined the Advisory Board of StrategEast Global Minds Initiative.

Sergey Tokarev is an IT entrepreneur, Founding Partner of Roosh and founder of SET University. He was one of the first investors in Reface as he managed to recognize the vast potential of the startup at an early stage.

Sergey graduated from Moscow University for the Humanities with a degree in Management. He also studied at the University of Malta.

For 20 years in the technological sector, Sergey Tokarev has tried almost all roles in this area – from a call centre operator and a marketer to a company’s top managing position. Subsequently, he founded over 30 businesses around the world. Many of them work successfully up to this day. Sergey has invested in over a hundred IT projects. Apart from Reface, Tokarev’s portfolio contains such well-known startups as Oura, Deel, Facemoji, and many others.

Sergey is actively involved in charitable and educational activities. Since 2017, within the framework of the LuckyBooks project, he has been publishing and distributing free academic literature for teenagers in Ukrainian. In 2019, Tokarev founded STEM is FEM, an educational project for Ukrainian schoolgirls. Its goal is to introduce girls to STEM specialities and motivate them to pursue careers in the technology field. The global mission of the project is to promote gender equality in STEM.

In 2021, within the framework of STEM is FEM, a subsidiary project named SHE is SCIENCE was launched. SHE is SCIENCE is an art and educational exhibition that describes the role of women in the development of world science on the example of 12 remarkable Ukrainian female scientists.

In 2021, Sergey Tokarev announced another large-scale educational initiative — creating a technological university — SET University. It is a higher educational institution of a new type that combines theoretical technical knowledge with entrepreneurship training and business education.

As his personal life goal, Sergey wants to develop Ukraine as the most technologically advanced country globally, focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. This mission is precisely what Tokarev’s business, investment, and educational activities focus on.
