Visa launches new project to promote cashless payments in Azerbaijan

VISA presented its pilot project Tap to Phone in Baku, Trend reports from the event.
The program will allow for paying from a mobile phone or other smart devices (e.g. smart watches) only by touching the gadget’s screen, without additional manipulations.
This project has been launched in 2 countries to date, and work on its dissemination is ongoing.
“Azerbaijan is also among the countries under discussion for the introduction of a tokenization system,” said Oleksandr Stelmakh, Director on Digital Solution for Ukraine, CIS and Southeast Europe (SEE) at VISA.
The program runs on the Android operating system. Due to the technical limitations of the OS system, the program does not work on it.
